We adhere to the rules as they apply in Europe and the Netherlands. These general terms and conditions are an addition/extension to this.
Our Art and Shapes webshop is part (a trade name) of the Dutch company Wood, Tools & Deco, registered in the Chamber of Commerce under number 68627092. Our VAT number is NL857525098B01. Through our webshop we sell products to individuals and companies from Europe.
Our webshop editors compile the information that is offered to you with the greatest possible care. Based on new information, regular adjustments are made to the webshop or the products offered. No rights can be derived from an unexpected error in a description, availability or an incorrect price indication.
We like to see ourselves as a modern (ICT) company and strive for clear communication, fast deliveries and efficient solutions. Most of our processes are therefore fully automated.
This results in the following:
We only communicate by email or the contact form on our website, so not by telephone. We ship finished products daily. This applies 7 days a week, so orders are also shipped during the weekend. Due to our small scale, we have short lines of communication with technical and logistics employees and can therefore usually act quickly in the event of problems or special requests. We are not tied to a fixed workplace or working hours, so you can also expect a response by email from us during weekends and evenings.
All prices stated for the products are in euros, including VAT and excluding shipping costs. The high VAT rate of the Netherlands (21%) applies to all products. All stated prices are subject to price changes by suppliers, exchange rate adjustments and the like and can be adjusted by the webshop without prior notice. We follow the VAT rules as they apply in Europe. In almost all situations, this means that we are obliged to charge VAT to our customers, unless an entrepreneur from outside the Netherlands is in possession of a valid VAT number. In that case, the webshop will automatically not charge VAT (in that case the VAT will be reverse-charged).
Please note: from July 1, 2021:
For all European buyers (persons and companies) from outside the Netherlands who cannot provide a valid European VAT number, we, like any other company in Europe, must charge the VAT percentage of the country to which we send the products. Because the prices in our webshop are shown including 21% VAT, it is possible that at checkout (when the delivery address is known) the total amount will be slightly higher or lower (not all countries charge 21% VAT).
3. Delivery and payment
Unfortunately you cannot collect your order from us, but we ship to many countries in Europe. As a rule, an order is shipped with an automatically selected carrier, which is currently almost always PostNL. The choice depends on several factors, including the delivery address, the cost and speed of a particular carrier. You can sometimes also choose a carrier yourself.
The costs for the full order fulfillment (such as shipping costs, packing costs, administration) are passed on to the buyer. The buyer is responsible for any additional import duties/taxes charged by your country or selected carrier. This will sometimes apply for buyers from Europe, for example for buyers from outside the European Union (e.g. Switzerland) where import duties/taxes may be charged.
Payment of the order is handled in the webshop or via a payment link. Payment can be made through various payment methods including iDeal, Klarna (pay later), credit cards such as VISA and MASTERCARD and PayPal. We work together with an external company (Mollie.com) for this. All orders with us are therefore settled before the order is shipped. Klarna does offer buyers the option of paying afterwards, or even in installments. For larger orders (above EUR 400 excluding VAT) it is possible to purchase partially on invoice (for example, 50% in advance and 50% after delivery). However, we are not a fan of this because it entails extra administrative actions. For this option and other special requests, you can always contact us by email or our contact form.
Please note: if you choose a payment method based on a loan/credit (such as Klarna) at checkout ) then you enter into a contract with the relevant party, not with us. Any additional (reminder costs) and the like are therefore not our responsibility and our customer must deal with the relevant party.
4. Canceling and changing
Once placed orders can usually not be canceled or changed (such as a change of address due to a typing error) because they are processed and the products produced within a few hours.
5. Exchanges, returns and complaints
Exchanges and returns are unfortunately not possible with us because all products are custom made for you. If we receive products back, we can no longer sell them. It is therefore extra important for a buyer to pay attention to the details, specify the correct dimensions and colors when ordering.
We will make every reasonable effort to replace damaged or incorrect products, but if replacement is not possible, the amount you paid for the order will be returned as soon as possible, but at the latest within 30 days.
We do our utmost to provide you with the best possible service as quickly as possible. If you still have a complaint about our products or our working method, you can submit it by email or via our contact page. Only Dutch law applies to agreements between you and us.
A shortage or damage on delivery
In the event that the customer proves that we have not delivered enough or that something has been damaged by storage or shipping, we are always entitled to choose as the first option to refund part of the purchase price, instead of creating a new shipment with the missing or damaged product.
This is due to the high production and fulfillment costs involved.
The data provided by you will be treated confidentially by us. Your address details will not be sold or passed on to third parties.
